Return on investment

more important than budget

Your budget is important, but you know what matters even more? Getting a website that delivers on the goals you have for it, and generates a positive return on investment.

That's why, at Thrive, we focus on strategy first and how your project is going to fit your sales and marketing efforts. If we don't think we'll be able to generate a MASSIVE return on investment, we won't take your project on.

The process for a proposal
The proposal process

How we figure it all out

Before we can issue a proposal, we need to know a lot more about who you are and what you need help with. After all, we only take on projects that we know we can have a massive impact on.

Our first step is to have a super quick clarity call to say hello and get an idea if it's worth talking more about your project. After all, we might be the completely wrong fit. Or you might just hate our faces! Either way, we find it helps to check whether our vibes mesh or not before investing more time.

If we like each other, we then do a strategy call to learn more about the problem you're facing, make some recommendations on how we can solve that problem, and even give you an idea of what it would cost to have us solve that problem. If that all makes sense, we'll then send you a proposal (with a fixed price) to get us involved.

Let's talk
  • The site is doing it's job!

Thrive’s attention to detail, quick response times, and overall friendliness are impressive. I know that they’re working for my goals, and that’s super helpful — it’s delightful to work with them.

    Shujaa Consulting

  • Working with Thrive Design has been a wonderful process.

The site went live a few weeks ago, and we’ve already seen two prospects come through in the last week. We haven’t had to do anything; they’ve just come through. The prospect forms are our number one indicator of success, so it’s exciting to see those numbers pop up passively, thanks to the site being so friendly and functional.

    Sydney, Practice CFO

  • Their system worked for me, and I truly enjoyed working with them.

We achieved our goal of getting new partnerships in the carbon market; this boomed after our website went up. In other words, the website legitimized the company.

    April, MicroEnergy Credits

  • The site impressed the unimpressable!

They genuinely tried to understand our business, which made the difference for us. Their work is worth every penny.

    Kaeli, Evergreen Financial

Frequently asked Questions

Got questions? Here's some answers to the questions we hear the most.

How much does it cost to build a website?

The average client, looking for a website to represent their business, pays us around $25,000. However there are MANY factors that go into a website project.
  • Do you already have professional brand?
  • Are we writing your content?
  • Do you need photography?
  • Are we creating any marketing collateral for you?
  • Are you selling products online?
  • Do you need any membership functionality?
And literally dozens of other questions we need answered to figure out the price. It's impossible to determine price without locking down the scope of the project, so we urge caution if you encounter anyone who can give you a price without taking you through a strategy call to understand what you actual need. From our side, let's start figuring out what investment would be needed by scheduling a call with our strategy team.

What is your hourly rate?

For hourly support our rate is $140 per hour and we bill in 1/4 hour increments, with a minimum 1/2 hour per item and we invoice at the end of each month. In order to be eligible for our hourly support we require your website is in tip top shape by being on a WordPress care plan. For full projects we provide fixed quotes for a fixed scope.

Where is your team located?

Thrive's team are all fully remote, working from home offices. We've focused on finding the right people vs people in a specific location, so we've ended up with a team spread across the good old US of A, and Australia.

How long will it take to build my website?

In general a new website project will take between 10-16 weeks, however there are a lot of factors that impact this timing such as project size, how available you are for feedback, who is writing the content, and if we are also doing branding or other similar work. Some factors that can impact the timeline are whether a project includes: Thrive also closes our doors for two to three weeks over the Christmas period. The good news is we come up with a timeline for each project, as well as scope and cost, during our intake process. We also give email status reports at the start of each week with the current status of the project, and what we're working on next. Thrive strives to have the best process and communication of any Seattle web design agency.

What if I want to add on features in the middle of a project?

A solid discovery process will minimize any changes to scope but priorities can shift during the middle of a project. Any new functionality, design, and content not outlined in the initial agreement will usually require changes to the budget and timeline. Don't worry, we'll agree on any changes to the budget and timeline before the additional work commences.

Why is there such a wide range in prices for a website?

A website is like a house, car, or vacation. They all have wide ranges of prices that are dependant on the features, functionality, and finesse that you are looking for. We ask a lot of questions in a one-hour conversation to figure out exactly what you are looking for, what it will take to deliver your ideal website, and how much that will cost. We will find out the rough price of your project early on in phase 1 of our process. Soon after that, you'll have the exact price to deliver on your project.

Are there any ongoing costs for my website?

We host and maintain your website with our $127 a month Care Plans. New features and support requests are handled hourly with our WordPress Support Services.
